Zelda: The Twilight Princess to have more Wii changes

Zelda: The Twilight Princess, Gamecube vs Wii? Set to debut on both the GameCube and Wii at the same time by the end of the year, Zelda: The Twilight Princess is basically the spiritual sequel to Zelda: Ocarina of Time, a true classic that many have extremely fond memories of. But you probably already know that. What you might not know however is that it’s just been confirmed the Wii version has had some changes made that make more use of the Wii’s unique control scheme.

Before, Miyamoto didn’t think that controlling the sword by swinging the Wiimote around would be any good. He thought it’d be too tiring. But having experimented with the concept since E3, he’s apparently now confident it can work well and has replaced the former boring method of pressing B to swing your sword, with physical swinging controlled by the Wiimote. Just what we all wanted!

In addition, thanks to the B button having become free due to the aforementioned change, the bow ‘n’ arrow is now controlled with the B button. According to the article the original scheme involved you ‘pulling’ the bow back by pressing down on the D-Pad, then releasing it by letting go. I personally think that sounds more engaging, but I do trust Miyamoto and if he thinks it’d get too irritating then he’s probably right.

While we’re on the subject, does anyone know what these two screenshots are all about? They were both taken at E3 2006 (original gallery) and as such are presumably of the same age, yet one clearly looks a lot better than the other. Could one be from the GameCube version and one from the Wii? Many realise that contrary to popular belief the Wii does not have the same hardware as the GameCube, but this could be an excellent example to show the differences if it is indeed a shot from each version.

I can see that the interface seems to indicate the Wii version, but that’s some serious difference in graphical quality right there. Leave a comment if you have any ideas.

Those screenshots just look to me like they’re from very different stages of development. Look at Link’s face in the top one! Look at it! It’s more like a texture on top of a block than a fully-formed 3D model. I very much hope the Gamecube version won’t look that lame.

Also, you’ve turned to capchas? For shame man, for shame.

Yeah that was my first thought too, but it’s listed as from E3 so I really don’t know what to think. The screenshot wasn’t there before so it was definitely added in the recent batch. I’m basically just confused.

And as for captchas, well really they seem like the best solution right now. Akismet is STILL blocking me so that’s out. >:

The Gamecube version actually doesnt look like the one on the top… but rather like the one on the bottom. So I doubt that the screenshot is that of the two versions of teh game.

It’s obvious that there is no difference between them! Only that the Wii is a mirror image of the Gamecube, example: In the Gamecube, you turn left to go to the Spirit Spring. In the Wii, you turn right to go to the Spirit Spring! Besides, by the sources of the Internet, you can easily tell that they redid it. Originally, Ordon Village was going to be called Taoru Village. But they changed it. Why? I know the answer!
At first, the game Twilight Princess was going to be made for the GameCube. But, after hearing about the Wii, the “game making people” then decided to make a version for the Wii. During this process, they made some additional changes, changing names, and Temples. If you just use the sourceof the Internet, you should be able to figure this out. Also, I am a ZELDA FANTIC! IAM THE #! FAN! Lol! Well, now that I’ve told you everything, you don’t have to be so questioning about this matter anymore! Lol!
Note to editor of this blog: You might want to keep this up to date. Also, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has ranked the number of… I think # 4 in the top ten games of 2006! I hope you enjoy this useful information!

P.S: The very top screenshot looks like it has been squished together. Like it’s been edited by soemone on MSPaint. I think somebody must have edited it before posting it on the Internet, or wherever Ryan found it. Eaither way, you can still tell the it’s left and right have been SQUEEZED together! And the information above is still true though, because notice that it says Taoru instead of Ordon. And I already have Twilight Princess on MY GameCube. And I have gone fishing, and that type of slim UGLY fish is an Ordon fish. Not Taoru. Also, Taoru was the original name, but it’s not anymore! Lol!

Thanks for the information Kougra643, I certainly didn’t know some of that — very interesting. :)

I guess the shot is just an outdated one then, which was probably a good thing to discover for those who went with the GameCube version. I’d still be interested to see a page comparing what exactly is different between the two versions though; one must exist out there, or be in the process of being made.

Yeah, someone is probably trying to pry it out of the game maker people. Either that, or hacking the Internet, those are basically the only ways to get that type of information. Other than that, it’s basically TOP SECRET, it’s what you call UNTOUCHABLE! Lol! But still, you gonna have to have some brains to get all that! They have some videos at GameSpy.com , but that is pretty much it. Cause when you get the Gale Boomerang, in the old version you just go in this room and open a chest. But in the new version, there is a whole MINI boss thing to deal with. There are some other small things, but that’s all I can possibly dig up. So, if you happen to luckily get some BIG information, just let me know! Lol! But either way, the game makers are prbably going to announce it, but not until LATER! But I’m not completely sure, cause I didn’t make it! Lol!
Also, I am typing up a “sequal” to the game, so I can E-mail it to the game makers, so then I can fly wherever and help them make it! Yes, I know I have VERY BIG DREAMS, but hey, better than having none at all! :)

hey kougra643! It’s me… discomar95!

Me and kougra643 are great friends just to let you know ryan!
(kougra643 says hi, and she wants to say that she is sitting right now, next to discomar95.) ….(seriously, she is right next to me!)… and me and kougra643 used to play Club Penguin, but that is done and gone now. So when kougra643 started playing Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess she was coming to school and telling me all about it! So I thought to myself, wow this game must be pretty rocking awesome so I decided to give it a go! AND I LOVED IT JUST AS MUCH AS KOUGRA643 DID AND DOES! So here I am joing kougra643 in her upsession of LZTP (Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess ) and becoming a #1 fan!

And that was just my introduction paragraph about how I ended up here upsessing with this rocking awesome game! Now this is my official first post!

… that was weird…but .. anyways!….
I have a very important question to ask you:
Have you beaten the game of Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess yet?

Because if you have not beaten the game, I probably shouldn’t mention some stuff that could give away the ending if you know what I mean, but if you have I will come back after you answer, and ask you another question. MAYBE. Okay I am going to let kougra643 take on the keyboard now. ttyl

Yes, Discomar95’s post may sound confusing, but it’s true! I am sitting right next to her… Typing… At 1:00 AM! But this is off the subject, and I must get back on track! This might spoil Twilight Princess for you, but Midna and Link LOVE each other! … Not that it wasn’t obvious, cause by the middle of the game there was no way that you couldn’t tell! Thus concluding my post… Not really, because I ALWAYS MUST type at least a BILLION words! Lol! Though, I think that Twilgiht Princess needs to be less “dramatic”, if you know what I mean. Because the ending is GOOD, yet BAD! It just didn’t make any “sense”. (Discomar95 says “I agree!”). But if you read through half of the credits (which has ALL Japanese and Chinese names. There isn’t even one English name in there…) there is a BONUS SCENE! It’s kind of sad, but then you KNOW good is happening from it. I’ve already beaten the game (like 1-2 months ago) and I just watch the bonus scene over and over and over again… Still, I think that Twilight Princess comes with a “solid” ending that leaves you hanging… Either way, the game makers did a GREAT job, and Twilight Princess is probably the BEST of ALL of the other games! I hope eveyone enjoys it, though I in paticular think the ending (before the bonus scene) is kind of SUCKY! (Sorry about the language, it’s just my opinion)! I hope you all enjoy the game! Good luck getting through all the dungeons without searching the walkthrough on the Internet! :)

- Kougra643

P.S: Discomar95 says that it would be funny, if at the end of the credits they suddenly put the name: Debra! - After all those Chinese and Japanese names…

so.. kougra and kougar are the same person now? and i believe the top pic is from the wii version. because the b button is the bow and arrow and i was surfing on a different site and found that the wii uses the controller to slash the sword and the b button for the bow and arrow. im not sure why the pic looks so crappy though.

also the shape of the buttons on the pic couldnt be gamecube, because they dont look like the gamecube buttons. so it must have been on the wii.

hola I know I havn’t been to this site in a while, but I wanted to post again, because I havn’t been here in a while, and I was glad to read those happy memories. So I am posting the fact that, I AM COMPLETELY HAPPY 98% FULL OF HAVING ELECTRONICS. I WANT THE FLIP AND THE WII, BUT I KNOW THE WII WILL BE A WHILE, AND THE FLIP NOT UNTIL CHRISTMAS. But when I do get those things, I am going to play LZTP wii versoin and beat the game. Then I am going to make an awesome edited video of LZTP. But untill then, I will be playing Animal Crossing: Wild World for Nintendo DS Lite, and regular DS. And Club Penguin. THE MOST 2 FAVORITE GAMES BESIDE LZTP. Me and Kougra643 have a friend who has the wii, and the LZTP game for the wii, so we want to make a play date together, the three of us, and play club penguin, search videos on youtube, and google, and play LZTP and other games on the wii. Mean while I will tell them about Animal Crossing, and the forums for it. Kougra643 will play club penguin and be obsessed with it until the day we die! ANd when she finally gets a ds and animal crossing, she and I will be obsessed with it just as much as Club Penguin. Then when we get the wii, and I get the flip, and (she has the flip already) Then we will be obsessed with LZTP together too! And videos on youtube! YAY! MY PLAN IS EVIL, BUT IT JUST MAY WORK! lol

Not sure why noone mentioned this, but the Wii version’s actually backwards because they switched the entire game around, because most players are right handed.
